Long night

It looks like this presidential election will not be decided tonight, and the country have to wait for everything to shake out in Ohio (and maybe several other states) for a final winner to emerge. I'm encouraged that the Kerry/Edwards camp is not willing to throw in the towel. They know this is way too important to let go.

Even if Bush wins re-election, he will not be my president, and he never will be. Bush and the people in his administration do not represent my values and what I believe in. I think a lot of other people in this country share this opinion.

If he wins, Bush is going to come on TV and preach to us that he will unite this country. It's not gonna happen. He promised us this in 2000. He had the last four years to make good on his word. He failed. After the horrors of September 11, Bush had an opportunity to unite this country and to be a good president, possibly even one of the best in American history. He failed. Miserably.

This is a divided country. Bush has proven that he will not change and he will not unite us. It's time for a change. On to the recounts...

Unfortunately, because of the radical right and the moron-lemming caste in America, W will be our blight for the next 4 years. The fact that the Democrats couldn't come up with a candidate who would pound W by 10 percentage points in the national count and by a landslide in the electoral college is a disgrace. How did this clown skate by on his record of the last 4 years? Get used to his stupid smirk.

Where is the next great national candidate for the Democratic Party? Forget Hillary and forget Obama (the Deep South will never, ever accept either a woman or a black as President). Where are the best and brightest and who the hell is he?

Also, I learned that being gay in America means that you are a second class citizen with whatever rights we say you can have. And, for the love of God, let's have some national standards for voting practices. Like, having enough workers and booths to accommodate those who wish to cast a ballot. Of course, I also believe that only states that border an ocean should be allowed to vote, but that's only my opinion.

I love this country, I just hate the people running it.

Out.

Wouldn't that mean that the Carolinas would also get to vote?

Don't you try to disenfranchise my vote, Simmermna!

yes, the carolinas would vote but we would put only a liltte bitty ol ding in the whole democratic landslide ... god, if only everyone voted like dc -- 90-10. I think I've decided that the British Virgin Islands might be nice ...
